ScanNCut Quilt Along

Back in December I mentioned that I was thinking of doing a quilt along, using quilt blocks that are in our ScanNcut machines, several of you said you would be interested.

Im not a quilter but I do enjoy sewing and to be honest Im not sure how much time I could commit to making a full size quilt, with all the recording and editing that would be involved, but I recently made this cushion, using half square triangles which were all cut with my ScanNCut machine. The finished size is 20x20" it has a plain fabric back and fastens with a zip on the bottom.

So I am thinking, how about we make 4, 10" blocks using designs that are in our ScanNcut machines, we would make 1 a month and in the 5th month it will be quilted and assembled. You would have a lovely handmade item to keep or gift. Alternatively you could make multiples of the blocks and make a bigger project.

If you have an SDX/DX machine with auto blade technology the fabric mat and fabric blade would be great to use for this project.

If you have a CM model machine I would suggest using the high tack fabric support sheet, applied to an old mat and a new blade in your blade holder to use specifically for this fabric project.

3 years ago a made a cushion using 1 block from a ScanNCut machine which I cut using the high tack support sheet applied to a standard mat, it was a 3 part video series and you can find part 1 Here on my Youtube channel and parts 2 and 3 are in the "sewing" playlist.

This is just to give you an idea of what can be achieved even if you don't have a SDX/DX machine.
