Well I remember my granny teaching me to crochet when I was a young child but have not done any for many many years.
I fancied having a go and maybe making a small blanket, so I went looking for help on youtube. Ive managed to make one square so far but to be honest I don’t have a good memory anymore I struggled to remember the stitches i had to keep rewinding the video, so I don’t think I will be able to make anymore squares or if I do it could be a very long process.
Heres my square so far.

I wanted to make a smash type book/junk journal for a friend for Christmas but she is into all things vintage and althought I like some of the old vintage things its not really my style so I had to take my time and choose my supplies carefully. I chose scrapbook paper from a K & Co stack, Ive added quotes, sayings, pockets and envelopes, velum and some plain paper. I have also used some of the Tim Holts distress inks to edge all of the papers.
I wanted to keep the front of my book fairly simple so I have added some dark brown ribbon an old key I had and I made a crochet flower from a you tube video as an embellishment. I cut the word Journal on my Pazzles inspiration cutter.
I have not done any crochet for  many many years so I had to look on youtube for some help, I watched a few different videos so one of the photos shows my attempts but in the end I went with a 5 petal flower which can be found Here this was a recommendation from someone on a forum I use.
