Welcome To My Blog

I watched a video on youtube the other day that reminded me of these sliceform designs that were popular with paper crafters some years ago.

So I thought I would show you a simple one Ive made using the Christmas Tree design from the holiday pattern section on the ScanNCut machine.

I am sure you will all have this design, no matter what machine you have and if you would like a tutorial on how I did this let me know.

This would work with most designs but once you know the technique you can play around with other shapes.

So despite having a rhinestone kit from a previously owned cutting machine, I gave in and bought the ScanNCut kit.

Last week I activated it and had a play with it, it is very easy to use. The kit comes with some preinstalled shapes, letters and numbers that have been designed for use with the rhinestones in the kit, so as such they cannot be resized as this would affect the size of the cut holes.

However using the screen shot method that I showed in a recent video I was able to resize one of the design in Inkscape and as it was my intention to cut the design from card it didn’t matter about the size of the holes.

I chose a butterfly and duplicated it 3 times and positioned 2 of the shapes onto a rectangle shape which would form the front of my card, the third shape i was able to resize using Inkscape.

I have done a basic rhinestone test cut using the rhinestone kit and Ive made a 2 part video showing the full process, from activating the kit to choosing a design and cutting it out.

I hope you find it helpful wether you own the kit or not.

These two photos show the design I cut in the video and the card I made. #gallery-3373-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-3373-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-3373-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-3373-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
