Splitting Monogram Fonts with Inkscape

This Sunday 13th April I will be posting a video tutorial on splitting monogram fonts using Inkscape.

Here are a couple of examples, these are great for home decor projects.

The font is called Regal, I thought I got this font from Dafont.com but I cannot find it on there now, but it is available here for free

Paper & Flower Wreaths

I love wreaths and I love making them, both of these were made some time ago and hang in my house. They were both made on my Pazzles inspiration cutter which I have now sold and replaced with a Brother Scan n Cut and the same thing can be made on this machine too.

I cut a 12inch circle from chipboard but you could buy a pre cut shape, I then cut lots of flowers in various sizes and stuck them to the frame. I added stickles glitter glue and buttons to decorate.

There are lots of flower shapes in the scan n cut machine, that could be used to make a similar project, but if you want something a little more individual I am going to show you how to make your own flower shapes using the Brother Scan n Cut Canvas software in this Sundays ( 30th March) video.

Here is the little wreath I’ve made from the flowers I will show you how to make on Sunday.

I cut far to many and have lots left over.

Appliqué Pencil Case

I seem to have a bit of a bird theme going on at the moment, I’ve made a video today using a bird border to create a frame and a card/scrapbook mat and last night I made this pencil case and did some appliqué of a bird and branch.
