OMG I cannot say how pleased I am with how this has turned out. Its been a slow process but so rewarding.
Here are some photos, I couldnt  wait until tomorrow for the daylight, so these have just been taken under electric light but you should be able to see how it turned out.

I must also say that this tutorial I found on youtube for doing mitred border corners is the best I have ever found heres the link. I have perfect mitred corners.

Well I am getting on with my quilting now for this patchwork quilt. Its a slow process but hopefully it will be worth while when its finished.
Here are a couple of photos of the appliqué and some of the freehand machine quilting Ive done so far.
I will post a full photo when its all done.

I have been thinking about making a quilt for my daughter for some time and inspired by Kirsty’s vintage home programme recently where one couple made a quilt I decided to buy some fabric and have a go.
I have made small quilts before but this is for her bed this is it so far, all the fabric is sewn and Ive add some appliqué from the same fabric which I cut on my Pazzles Inspiration electronic cutter.
Its a chevron design with diamonds.
