Does this ever happen to you, I went to look for some fabric today for a class I am taking soon, we are making a Chameleon handbag which basically is a bag with a reversible jacket.
So armed with my list of supplies I went to a great fabric shop I found recently whilst surfing the net, this shop has so much fabric I am sure you could spend weeks inside looking!.
I didn’t really know what I wanted but thought I may buy some black fabric for the main body of the bag, well how wrong could I have been.
There are such fantastic fabrics out now the choice is endless so after walking around the shop for what seemed like ages and not really finding what I wanted I enlisted the help of one of the shop assistants.
I explained what I was looking for and whilst talking I was drawn to a bay that had some great looking bright fabric which I think was Cath Kidston but the lady said to me this could be fun to use for a bag and pulled out a roll of fabric with Scottie dogs on.
So this is what I ended up with.
The bottom fabric will be the main body of the bag, the next one is my lining and the top two are the jacket, so I will have dogs or spots as the mood takes me!.
Couldnt be any further away from black hey, oh well never mind.
I have bought all my other bits as well zip, threads, wadding, vilene etc so all I have to do now is read my instructions and prep all the fabric before class.
Hopefully I will be posting the finished bag in a couple of weeks, so we will have to wait and see how it turns out.
I have just spent the last hour folding all my left over fabric and wrapping it around acrylic bolts that are 12 x 6.
I cut 12×12 in half so that I got 2 bolts per sheet, any material that was a metre of bigger I folded in half down its length and wrapped it around and secured the end with a neat fold and a pin.
Any material that was smaller, I did the same but I used 6 x 6 acrylic so now I have nice neat and tidy fabric bolts.
But what do I do with those tiny scraps that we just can not bring ourselves to throw away, see far right of the photo.
Just saying hi it seems like ages since I’ve blogged but probably isn’t!.
Just to remind anyone out there’s that has a Craft Robo or Pazzles Inspiration and are having problems working out how to do things I still do the ‘Remote Access’ lessons just email me for details or look on my website where you can pay through paypal.
Since I posted the picture of the Pazzles dust covers I make and sell I have had requests for a Craft Robo one so here are the first couple.
I will be making more and putting them on both my website and Ebay shop.
