Ok this is my second go at free standing lace, I got this design free off the internet Here
It is aprrox. 3.5×3.5 inches and has just over 12000 stitches. Its actually the same pink as in the pennant below but the light isn’t good here today so in the photo it looks more lavender.

Well today I have had my first go at free standing lace (FSL) as its also know. I bought this design off the internet as it looked a simple design. I used three layers of water soluble embroidery stabiliser and it was fine. I may not have needed three layers but as it was my first attempt I wanted to make sure it was stable. Anyway I had this ‘H’ Pennant which was my test project before stitching out the Fine Cake Company bunting last week so I decided to use my FSL with it and make a little pennant.

Ive never made one of these before, so last night I decided to have a try my first one was ok but I made a couple of mistakes. So learning from those I made this one this morning and I love this one. #gallery-2097-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2097-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2097-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2097-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Ive used hessian which I have never sewn with before it was ok but it sheds a lots of fibres. Ive quilted the cuff and add a lace ribbon and pom poms.
This is the one I wasn’t as happy with, its probably because I don’t like the traditional reds etc used in most christmas fabrics. I also did some machine embroidery on this one too.
