I have been thinking about Christmas this week, I know we are still in September but it will be here before we know it.
So I am thinking about little quick gifts I can make for school, either as little gifts or for the school to sell at our Christmas fund raiser.
This little project is so easy and each one took about 10 minutes.
The mini tissues inside are from the supermarket and were £1.00 for 6 and you only need two pieces of material at 6.5 x 7.0 so cheap to make too.

Well Ive wanted to make one of these for ages and I saw one in a magazine this week, then saw Debbie Shore on TV showing one she had made with the ‘Brother’ sewing machine Pick of the day on Ideal world TV.
The machine she was showing was my sewing machine that I bought in June this year. I had also picked up a lovely pale blue remnant whilst out last week so decided I would finally make my cushion, so with the aid of some pink gingham and plain white fabric, here it is.

I love it.

I made these simple envelope style cushions recently to tone down my conservatory furniture which have a kind of nondescript pattern in gold/rust/taupe colours.
This fabric matched perfectly with the gold tone so I made 4, then LouP on UKscrappers asked for help with a simple sewn gift idea she wanted to make and I remembered that I had seen a door stop idea in a mag and on the net.
So I decided I would make one with the left over fabric from my cushions. I added a bit of applique detail using scraps of fabric and felt.
I designed a simple house shape and cut the pattern from card using my Pazzles Inspiration, which I then drew around onto the fabric and cut.
I used an applique stich which is on my sewing machine.
I have filled the inside with sand which is inside a ziplock bag and added just a bit of toy stuffing on top before I stitched it closed.
I love how it has turned out and think I will be making more of these.
