Welcome To My Blog

Well today I have had my first go at free standing lace (FSL) as its also know. I bought this design off the internet as it looked a simple design. I used three layers of water soluble embroidery stabiliser and it was fine.  I may not have needed three layers but as it was my first attempt I wanted to make sure it was stable. Anyway I had this ‘H’ Pennant which was my test project before stitching out the Fine Cake Company bunting last week so I decided to use my FSL with it and make a little pennant.

I made a couple of aprons last year for stocking fillers Here but I wanted to make something a little smaller. So I bought some fabric and whipped up these last night.

The blue one was my test one and its for me the cream/pink one is a gift. they are 27 x 14 wide and have a full width pocket acreoss the front which Ive edge with bias binding.

Here they are

A friend of mine makes beautiful cakes you can find her website here she asked me if I would make some bunting for when she does shopping fairs, so here it is its all done in the hoop but instead of cutting away the fabric before the satin stitch I left it in the hoop and used pinking shears once it was all finished.

The company is called  Fine Cake Company so its 6ft long so not easy to get it all in a photo shot but Ive taken a close up too.
