Morning all, well after being confined to the house since Wednesday, Hannah couldn’t stand it anymore and set about digging us out yesterday morning, it took her ages but she’s young and fit so I left her to it!
Anyway we got out, once we made it to the main roads we were fine, we went about 18 miles away shopping and we got some odd looks as our car was the only one full of solid snow on the roof, townies they don’t know what its like living high up in the country! lol
So today i have two videos for you both using Inkscape the first is manipulating text and the second is on using guide lines, this one I recorded some time ago but never made it live, not sure why.
Anyway I hope they help

I found what I thought was heat transfer vinyl in my cupboard last night and had these baby bib blanks, so thought I would do a quick project this morning, after cutting this I discovered it was in fact heat transfer flock, so it has a kind of fluffy feel.
First I designed my works in Inkscape, and flipped them as you have to cut this stuff on be wrong side.
I saved my SVG file and converted it in Canvas and transferred my file onto my USB stick and cut it with the SNC. #gallery-3602-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-3602-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-3602-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-3602-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

So despite having a rhinestone kit from a previously owned cutting machine, I gave in and bought the ScanNCut kit.
Last week I activated it and had a play with it, it is very easy to use. The kit comes with some preinstalled shapes, letters and numbers that have been designed for use with the rhinestones in the kit, so as such they cannot be resized as this would affect the size of the cut holes.
However using the screen shot method that I showed in a recent video I was able to resize one of the design in Inkscape and as it was my intention to cut the design from card it didn’t matter about the size of the holes.
I chose a butterfly and duplicated it 3 times and positioned 2 of the shapes onto a rectangle shape which would form the front of my card, the third shape i was able to resize using Inkscape.
I have done a basic rhinestone test cut using the rhinestone kit and Ive made a 2 part video showing the full process, from activating the kit to choosing a design and cutting it out.
I hope you find it helpful wether you own the kit or not.
These two photos show the design I cut in the video and the card I made. #gallery-3373-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-3373-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-3373-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-3373-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
