The question of how fonts look when using the ScanNCut pen tool has come up a few times recently on Facebook, questions like “how do you get the pen to fill in the text” “Why is the pen only drawing the outline of text”.
So I thought I would try and explain what fonts to look for when using the pen tool.
In my video I concentrate on “handwriting fonts”. I usually get my fonts from Dafont.com I have used this site for many years without any problems, you can also use “single stroke” fonts, you usually have to buy these so Ive not made any recommendations for these and will leave you to search the net and decide if you want to use them.
My video is Here
I hope it helps you understand what to look for to get the best result when using your pen tool for writing greetings etc.

For those of you outside the UK who didn’t get the colour recognition and SVG import options in the recent SNC Machine update of 17th December 2015 V1.60, this may be of interest to you.
Disclaimer This has nothing to do with me I am just passing the info on.
This is taken from the Brother Australia ScanNCut Facebook Page
This is the response from Brother regarding concerns raised by Australian Customers “We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment in relation to the Brother ScanNCut machine.
The range of Brother ScanNCut machines differs from country to country and there is not always an equivalent. When determining what models will be released locally, every Brother office around the world feeds in research and data specific to their market to ensure that new releases meet local customer needs. As such there will be times when certain overseas models will feature different capabilities and updates to those launched in Australia.
That being said, we do take your feedback very seriously. Therefore the product team in Japan have committed to resolving our customers concerns and are currently working hard to create an upgrade for the CM550DX and CM110 that can deliver RGB colour recognition and SVG import capabilities. As further updates become available on this upgrade, we will be sure to share them on this page.
Thank you all for your honest feedback and please be assured that we are listening!
I know not everyone uses Facebook So thought I would post their comments on here.
