  • Monogram Towels

Ive used my embroidery Janome Memorycraft 9900 sewing machine to embroider on towels before but this is the first time I have used the monogram feature. Ive used Marathon thread colour 1136 and I think they have turned out ok.

  • In the hoop bow bunting

I bought this embroidery in the hoop design file off the internet and thought I would try it out. This banner will eventually have about 7 of these bows but here are the first three. I need to get some ribbon to string them together but I thought I would post a quick photo of them so far.

  • Tea towel topper teacher gifts

The christmas stockings are selling well, so I decided to think about teacher gifts. Ive seen this idea on the net so made a template for the topper and this is what Ive come up with.

  • Personalised Baby Bibs

I thought I would try out using my embroidery machine on stretch fabric so I decided I would do some personalised baby bibs. I have added this one to my shop on Creative Stores to see if they sell.

  • Scan n Cut Scollop Charm Tutorial

Ive made another video showing how to make a welded charm for your cards or scrapbooking projects. I realise that not everyone has Inkscape or may not want to use it so in this video I show you how to use the Brother online scan n cut canvas software to get the same result. The video is here. <a href=" The charm is here. This is an alternative done in Inkscape so I have been able to use a decorative font I had installed.

  • Rainbow

I have been busy today trying to organise my new sewing club and getting it onto Facebook which I have to admit I was very unsure of. Anyway I just went to sit down and have some food and this double rainbow appeared so I ran out quick onto the patio balcony and took this photo. Aren’t rainbows amazing I love them and a double one is a bonus.

  • Golden Syrup Cake

I found this recipe on another website yesterday and thought I would give it a try Here It’s lovely and moist 100g sugar 200g butter/margarine 200g sr flour 2 eggs 3 tbsp golden syrup Cream butter and sugar Add eggs and syrup mix well Add flour and combine all the mixture Pour into lined loaf tin cook at 170 for about 30 mins, once cooked leave to cool and enjoy! Ive made this again today so thought I would post an updated photo, as my original one wasn’t that good, the cake still looks dark but I think thats because its made with brown sugar, but it is lovely and golden inside and so soft.

  • Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl

I’ve had this stuff years I used it once on a project, so thought I would see how it cut on the Scan n Cut, and it cut perfectly fine. I only made a small shape and I’ve ironed it onto a pencil case I made.

  • Janome Memory Craft 9900 Video

Someone from another forum I used to use contacted me this week asking how I was getting on with my machine as there didn’t seem to be a lot of info available on the internet as its a relatively new to the market machine. She also mentioned that she was going to try and work out how to resize a design, so I decided today to try and make a short video covering just a few of the embroidery features. So here it is I hope it helps. #embroidery #janome #memorycraft9900 #sewing

  • Scan n Cut Pen Tool

Did you know the Brother scan n cut pen tool had hidden talents? This may have been obvious to you all but unfortunately it wasn’t to me. I had been trying to pull the top of the pen tool off to load my pens, but then found out from the net that if you press the circle on the back of the pen tool the lid just pops up. Then I also discovered that the lid fits into the top of the pen tool so you know where it is whilst working with it in the machine. Clever or what, as I said you may well know this but I didn’t so thought I would pass the info on.

  • Appliqué Pencil Case

I seem to have a bit of a bird theme going on at the moment, I’ve made a video today using a bird border to create a frame and a card/scrapbook mat and last night I made this pencil case and did some appliqué of a bird and branch.
