So over the last year I have been donating or selling craft supplies I haven’t used, I don’t see the need anymore to keep stuff “just incase I need it one day”
This was my last move around, when I paired down not only supplies but furniture too in 2016.
Recently I decided the big desk would be better in my office, it’s slightly higher than standard because I have an extra oak top over the original desk and I sometimes find it uncomfortable when filming videos. So I used the opportunity to rearrange the furniture again.
The white desk came from my office the small wooden draws on the floor under desk on the left won’t stay.
Ive bought a 12×48 inch peg board to sit against the wall ontop of the desk and I have hung a few bits and bobs to add a bit of colour.
The vinyl was stored in the Alex 6 draw unit, but I took it out to free up extra draw space, I don’t use a lot of vinyl so I my put this stand on the floor next to the 4×4 unit but I am working on a couple of vinyl projects at the moment so that’s why it’s on my desk.
The set of three draws on the right have everyday supplies, like SNC accessories, adhesive etc.
The set of six draws have my SNC mats, SNC kits extra adhesive, embroidery threads and various embroidery backings etc, and my Janome MC9900 sits on top.
I just need a new white more comfortable chair and I think I will be happy crafting in my rearranged space.
My Juki MO1000 serger is in a different part of the room. It feels more organised and in all the years I’ve lived in this house my desk has never been in this position, so I will see how I get on with the change around.
It took me 5 hours the other night to do this move, but I think it was worth it, I think its good to have a move around from time to time do you?
This is the wall the desk was on.

Yesterday I decided to change my craft room I am sure I cannot be the only one who has stuff that they don’t use, I decided to de clutter.
I had two desks in my room a small white Ikea table for my SNC and paper crafting and a bigger desk that used to have my sewing machine and serger on.
Ive not been doing much sewing lately so thought I would move things around.
This is how it was up to May 2015
I got rid of the long Ikea desk and changed it to this in 2015.
Yesterday I decided to get rid of the small Ikea desk and swapped it for my big desk from the opposite wall, this is what it looks like now its freed up lots of space in my room. I will lift my sewing machine onto the table as and when I need it.
The next thing I have to do is work out how to get rid of the big ugly white bedding box thats stood next to the Ikea Expedite unit, it only has old photo frames in it but it was a wedding present from his grandparents some 35+ years ago so my husband wants me to keep it!
This room flows into my sun room so I didn’t want to be looking back at lots of unused clutter.
So yesterday our new corner lounge suite was delivered which is replacing a 2 and 3 seater settee, the 3 seater has gone to the tip, but the 2 seater was perfectly fine and I wanted it moving into our sun room which is where Hannah and I spend most of our time, the sun room is a through room attached to our craft/sewing room.
My husband just doesn’t get crafting at all, so we never discuss what we do with him, our room is lovely and bright because it’s a through room that leads into our sun room which has a glass roof, two full height windows and a set of double doors that lead out onto a large balcony that runs across the back of the house.
In the sun room we chill and relax and in the craft room we have all our stuff.
So when he moved the settee into the sun room yesterday he looked through to the craft room area and said, why do you have all that stuff in there, you have two desk, one of which is far to big three chairs and that unit, (pointing at my IKEA Expidite 4×4 cube unit) you don’t need all that, my reply was we use it, now go away!
Anyway it must have been playing on my mind because this morning Hannah didn’t go to golf because the weather was bad so I decided to move the 2 meter long IKEA desk and draws that seated two that I craft at into her bedroom, we never really sit at it together, so I swopped it for her Ikea single desk.
I’ve gone from this
To this
But I have to say it does look better but I will never admit that to my husband!
I still have my sewing desk on the other side of the room. it’s a good sized room but looks even more spacious now.
The cupboard on the left has all my frames for word cloud orders and the draws on the right are the new ones I bought recently to keep all my adhesive, vinyl and ScanNCut stuff in and she has got more room to spread out for homework now too on the bigger desk in her bedroom so I think it was probably a good move, but I will never actually admit that to him. Lol
Anyway I am sat here now in the sun room looking back at my labours and feeling pleased, if not tired with myself.
