Well I woke up last Thursday to the main PC not working after it had done a big windows update.
To cut a long story short had to have a new hard drive and sound card anyway back up and running now.
Did some sewing last night and made this bag for my daughter.
She wanted a flap with a magnetic clasp fastening I had to look on the Internet about how to fit that, anyway she loves it.
We went to Arkwrights Mill at Cromford today and there’s a great little patchwork shop there. I wanted to get some fabric to make my frilly dilly bag but forgot to take the pattern with me.
My little girl liked these yummy fabrics and wants me to make her a bag so that will probably be my next project.
I will have to go back when I get some time, with my pattern and pick up some more great fabric for my bag.
Anyway I thought I would show you what she chose.
I recently found a patchwork quilting shop that I never knew existed so I went inside for a good old look around.
Whilst I was in there this Stripe fabric caught my eye and I thought it had colours in it that I could use in our new craft room (once the house is built that is!). So I tried to pick more fabric that matched in with the colours.
We are having white desks and Ikea Expedit units but my little girl has taken a liking to Snille Swivel chairs in red, so I thought I could use accent colours of red and green with storage box’s etc like here http://www.sarahyoude.com/2010/01/craft-room-the-details.html
And the more I looked at this material the more I saw colours that will match in with our craft room tools, there’s pink like our crop o dile, turquoise like our Pazzles Inspiration, bind it all and dreamkuts and green like our cuttlebug and cuttlekids so it seems to fit perfectly.
So Ive decided I will make a table runner for the top of the toy box I painted recently, posted here http://www.aandhcrafts.co.uk/blog/?attachment_id=227
All I need now is another colour for the backing and the binding.
