Everywhere you go these days to buy your food shopping or petrol the store always want you have one of their loyalty cards to collect points. Well my purse is busting with them, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Tesco, it goes on and on so when someone on the MSE site posted a link to a wallet for holding these things I decided I would make one. • Purse

Thank you to Hart,  from the MSE forum for sending me the link to this tutorial. Zippy Wallet Ive made this tonight and I think this is now going to be the thank you gift for the little girl who has leant us her chocolate fountain for my daughters birthday  party next weekend. Great little purse with a section on the front for something like a library card.

  • Update on House

Well its my daughters 9th birthday tomorrow and she is having a party at home on Saturday, we have managed to get the lawn laid and settled in, in time and had the stainless steel railings and glass installed on our balcony. She’s out with Brownies at the moment so I thought I would try and take a picture of the back of the house showing the improvements. If you look at the far right of the photo you will see the trampoline we have put together today and are hiding outside the holiday let, fortunatley no one is in there today. When she comes in tonight it will be straight to bed and then we have to go out later and position it in the garden for when she gets up in the morning. The black wall under our balcony and the stone wall that you can see will eventually be a conservatory if my husband gets his own way. Now with Balcony & Grass

  • Toiletry/Makeup Bag

Hi just thought I would post a photo of the toiletry bag Ive made tonight for my daughter. I only had a 12inch zip so I cut my fabric and wipe clean lining at 11 x 10.5 inches. Ive added a bit of ribbon and done box corners so it stands better.

  • Painted Baskets

I saw this idea of painting baskets on a Kirstie Allsopp program last year and then someone on a forum did some more recently so I thought I would have a go on a small unit in my daughters room. I did this project this morning and it only took about an hour. I watered down some white paint and gave the basket a quick wash over and left to to dry. Ive added a three inch fabric cuff to the existing muslin liner and we now have a different look. Here is the before and after.

Ive been ill again the last few days so I haven’t had time to get on with my fence rail quilt, but in between christmas I ordered so fabric pre cuts and they arrived today. I may even try selling these in my online shop. Heres some of the fabrics.

  • Snow Brrrrrrrrr

Well after being snowed in all weekend and yesterday, the sun is shining here now but everywhere is still covered in snow, Ive made wholemeal bread in the bread maker I cheated a little and used a packet mix I’ve never done that before all I had to do was add water and oil but its yummy. I have also made carrot, onion, sweet potato, red lentil and parsnip soup which is just about to to blitzed in my Ninja blender, and if that wasn’t enough Ive prepared a raspberry and apple crumble to go in the oven for after tea. When i say prepared it took all of about 1 minute, peeled and chopped apple put in a bowl add some frozen raspberries from the freezer 1 teaspoon of sugar sprinkled over the top and poured on a bag of ready made crumble.
