Ive told my daughter I will repaint her bedroom in the next school holiday, all the furniture in her room was white except her bedside table so in preparation of our forthcoming painting I decided to buy her a new bedside set of draws.
We only wanted a simple no fussy set and found some in Argos they were available in white at £55.00 however they sell the same set in unfinished wood and they are only £26.00.
They were very easy to put together I painted the draw fronts before i put them on the draw frames. I masked off the edges so I would get a nice crisp finish.
I used pure white eggshell and they have turned out lovely, its a little grey here today so the photo doesn’t do them justice. She wants the knobs possibly decoupaging with a Cath Kidston design so I may buy some napkins of use fabric not sure yet, but for now they are just plain white. I have paint in all the time for various projects but I bought a new tin of eggshell for these I can use it on the door frames and skirting when I decorate, but I still saved £20.00 over buying the ready painted white version.
We have to wait for fabric samples now then we can choose our accent wall colour. We are having all white with one wall in colour.
Here are the before and after for the draws
This is the colour scheme we are thinking of, accent wall possibly in the pinky colour far right, everywhere else white, fabric for new roman blinds will be either CathKidston Rose cotton duck or Clarke & Clarke not sure which range yet waiting for samples but all the ones we have looked at have the greens, and pinks.
Her room now has accents of lilac so she will keep those things and adding too with CK bits and pieces. We want to be organised in advance so that when the next holiday arrives we can empty everything out and get it done in the week.
Now with Cath Kidston knobs
