Someone contacted me some time ago and asked if I could help with a problem they had with a Cricut cutting file at the time I was busy so couldn’t but I have a fascination with software that can be used with electronic cutting machines and with the introduction of the new Cricut Maker machine with its rotary blade which I think is a game changer especially for fabric crafters, I felt I had to have a look at Design Space 3 the online software to see how easy or difficult it is to use.
I downloaded it to my iPad over the weekend and have to say it is so easy and intuitive to use, far more so than Canvas on a mobile device (Sorry Brother!)
For anyone new to my blog I don’t own a Cricut machine and never have but love how you are now not restricted to using pre bought cartridges like in the old days of the first machines.
Ive used Design Master, Inkscape, Silhouette Studio, Pazzles Inspiration/Funtime and ScanNCUt Canvas software over the years, they are all basically the same, the steps may be slightly different and the functions called by different names but they all let us make great cutting files for our machines.
So this is an absolute beginners view of working through DS3, join me in my journey and leave me comments under the videos, to let me know if I am doing anything wrong or if there is an easier way to do something so that we can all learn together.
The first DS3 video is Here
So if you know someone who owns a Cricut and wants to learn Design Space give them the link please.
