Last Friday we woke up to snow and Hannah and I couldn’t get to work or school, by late afternoon the snow had thawed enough for us to get the car off the drive, so we decided to have a trip to IKEA.
Hannah wants to change her bedroom to make it a little more grown up for a teenage girl! Also the vanity in her shower room was falling to bits so I bought her a new wall hung cabinet, sink and waterfall tap off the net over Christmas and they were fitted last week.
We sold her old dressing table, spare lamp, magnetic board, picture frame, cushion, small Ikea unit and some other bits and pieces and used the money plus some she had saved and some from me of course to make a start on the transformation.
The room is being repainted in white and the pink wall is going to be a pale shade of duck egg blue, because of a lamp she’s wanted from Ikea since last year, which you may be able to see on the dressing table.
The painting is being done in the February school holiday.
She has good wardrobe space but wanted a new set of draws and a dressing table after trawling google, YouTube and Pinterest she decided on the Ikea Malm table with glass top, and the lovely clear chair which is so comfy, and the Malm draws with additional glass top. We also bought a the lamp (of course) new shoe rack, 3 small wall storage trays which are to the left of the dressing table for perfumes etc, the bedside clock and a few other bits.
We got everything home and started the furniture assembly I got to bed at 12 midnight on Friday.
She needs a dressing table mirror and has her eyes on some kind of light up one, but she is saving up for it.
Whilst doing our research I came across some brilliant colour changing lights and decided to attach them to the back of her new dressing table they are called Ledberg and were £12/13 pounds in Ikea. You can have them scrolling through colours or stop them on a specific colour if you prefer. They reflect off the white wall and look amazing.
Ive put them as an unlisted video on my channel Here
We need to change the Roman blinds, recover the seat on the small ottoman at the base of her bed (she wants white fluffy fabric) and find a nice white fluffy throw for the bottom of her bed, some artwork for her wall and it will be done, but it’s looking so cosy already.
